If you are like me, keeping track of whether a website is a .com, .org, or .net can be a confusing (and sometimes embarrassing) endeavor. Annual System Flushing

Starting March 30th thru May 29th

Flushing water lines are done to clean out distribution pipelines by removing any impurities or sediment that may be present in the pipe. Routine annual flushing is in accordance with the West Virginia Bureau of Public Health recommendations. Putnam PSD is in full compliance with all recommendations from regulatory agencies.

Caution should be taken during this period. If water is discolored, do not use for drinking, cooking or laundry. If you encounter discolored water, run water until it clears. If the discoloration continues, call (304) 757-6551. As a precautionary procedure, boiling the water is always advised for drinking or cooking while our crews are flushing in your area.
